Services: Research

All our services are informed by research evidence, and our consultancy depends on gathering accurate data about your organisation. We also carry out formal research.

Examples of previous research for organisations include:

  • Customers’ views of your strengths and weaknesses
  • Staff awareness of where you could improve quality and/or save money
  • How employees rate your management

( Please note: We do NOT do traditional market research.)

We would also be happy to tender for academic research projects.

Our personal experience of research covers both qualitative and quantitative methods:

Susy was a research psychologist in the NHS, carrying out service audits, demographic analyses, outcome studies, and contributing to a multi-centre narrative study. She has also conducted several bespoke pieces of research for commercial organisations including job satisfaction surveys, stress audits and customer satisfaction surveys. Her research on empathy was published in Counselling Psychology Quarterly. Susy supervised student research during her lectureship. Her current academic research is on developing reflective practice.

Richard‘s major area of research is the field of social exclusion. He is particularly interested in developing research tools to measure the impact of intervention and to develop these tools to support and improve the process of self-evaluation. His papers include an evaluation of a school-based family intervention, published in the Journal of Social Welfare and Family Law. Richard’s recent research includes outcomes for looked-after children and the impact of child protection reports nationally and internationally.

Jo Fennell completed her PhD in the field of aircraft cabin safety. She has since had extensive experience supervising students’ research. Her current interest is in research that captures the richness of individuals’ experience.

Please contact us for an informal discussion of any research plans or needs.
