Susy Churchill
Susy has worked within industry, education, and the NHS. Her recent experience includes:
- Creating operational practices and policies from scratch for an Employee Assistance Programme, including the recruitment and management of a network of over 550 counsellors and psychologists
- Managing the Counselling Studies department within a major British University
- Supervision and consultancy in a range of NHS and education settings

Susy’s first degree was in Psychology, following which she became a qualified teacher, completed an MSc in Counselling Psychology and gained accredited counsellor status with BACP.
She provides the following services:
- Organisation development consultancy: clients including NHS, charities, industry
- Counselling: 20 years experience including primary care, education, independent practice
- Supervision: 18 years: psychiatric settings, education, independent practitioners
- Coaching: 10 years providing coaching for individuals & management teams
- Training: 20 years experience in a range of settings and on all areas of her expertise
- Research: Susy’s research in the commercial field has included job satisfaction surveys and stress audits. She worked as a research psychologist within the NHS and presented papers to the Director of Public Health. Her research on different aspects of empathy was published by Counselling Psychology Quarterly. She is currently researching ways of developing reflective practice and emotional intelligence.
Susy has published a number of research and practice papers in academic journals & presented research and practice papers at professional conferences. Her book The Troubled Mind will be published by Palgrave Macmillan in September/October 2010.
