Richard Williams
Richard has worked in education and social work for more than 30 years. His recent experience includes:
- Senior lecturer in social work in a well-regarded British University
- Social Inclusion Co-ordinator in a comprehensive school
- Joint Principal of an Education Social Work Service
Richard’s core values are: social justice; developing the individual; compassion
Richard completed a degree in town planning before qualifying as a social worker. He holds a Master’s degree in Social Work and the Certificate of Qualification in Social Work.
He provides the following services:
Organisation development consultancy: primarily within education and statutory services
Supervision: for individuals and teams working within social work or education
Conflict resolution: Richard led a project providing training and interventions in restorative justice approaches to schools, social work departments, youth offending teams and youth workers
Training: in social inclusion strategies, restorative justice, child protection
Research: service evaluation, identifying best practice interventions
Richard has published a number of research papers in prestigious academic journals including the British Journal of Social Work. His book Breaking the Cycle of Educational Alienation (co-authored with Colin Pritchard) was published by the Open University Press in 2006.
