Jo Fennell

Jo worked as a professional photographer before becoming a psychologist. Her doctoral research in aircraft cabin safety led her to train as a counsellor and psychotherapist. Jo’s recent experience includes:

  • Lecturing in the Counselling Studies department of a major British university, having been its first Programme Director
  • Providing counselling and psychotherapy as an independent practitioner
  • Providing supervision and mentoring for individuals and groups

Jo’s core values are: relationship, respect and congruence

Jo’s first degree was a BSc in Psychology, followed by research leading to a PhD in psychology. She is a Chartered Counselling Psychologist, registered with the Health Professions Council.

She provides the following services:

  • Counselling: Experience includes bereavement counselling, a university counselling service and independent practice
  • Supervision: Jo works with counsellors and psychotherapists, both individually and in groups, and also provides mentoring.
  • Training: Jo provides training on a wide range of counselling and psychological topics.
  • Jo has served as External Examiner for counselling courses at other universities.
